SOO BAHK DO
DeJohnette Martial Arts Academy specializes in the instruction of Soo Bahk Do®, the original martial art developed by Grandmaster Hwang Kee. Soo Bahk Do® is a "striking" art and uses both hand and foot techniques in sparring and forms. Joint locks, take downs, sweeps and throws are incorporated into the self-defense aspect. Many things make this art unique; like the 5 Moo Do Values which are taught and reinforced throughout the training. The emphasis of these values makes Soo Bahk Do® ideal for men and women, boys and girls, and seniors alike.
San Diego County is currently under COVID-19 PURPLE tier restrictions, requiring all indoor fitness activities, which includes martial arts studios, to cease and desist. DeJohnette Martial Arts Academy has resumed ZOOM-only classes as of Thursday, November 19, 2020. Students have been advised of the new days and times for online training. We will continue to hold Saturday afternoon Virtual Martial Arts Classes (ZOOM) for new and distance learning students. For information on enrollment, email us at ddejohne@cox.net
